The online teaching platform serves as a software system providing technical support for online education, and due to its convenient educational communication functions, it has been widely applied in various higher education institutions. It supplements traditional classrooms and enhances current talent cultivation models in universities. Among the different teaching methods utilized on these platforms, the blended learning model has become one of the most commonly used approaches in higher education. However, the application of this model across different types of institutions shows significant variation, which inevitably leads to some challenges. This study draws on relevant domestic and international research to analyze the concept, characteristics, and instructional system design theories of the blended learning model. Through an investigation into the current usage of blended learning models on online teaching platforms in higher education, this research identifies the practical challenges faced in the teaching process. The paper systematically examines these issues and offers several scientific and reasonable recommendations aimed at improving the integration of blended learning models into university classrooms. By doing so, it seeks to enhance students' learning efficiency and, to some extent, contribute to the advancement of national education development.
